The era of the linear career is over.
For generations, we signed a social contract: Pick a lane, climb the ladder and society will keep you safe. That contract is void. We are navigating an exponentially changing world with a map from the Industrial Revolution.
In the age of AI, rapid disruption and longevity, staying in your lane is no longer safe. In fact, it’s the most dangerous thing you can do. The ladder has become fragile. It can no longer hold the weight of change.
We don’t need to climb it faster.
We need to look elsewhere.
Over the last few years, I’ve been building a methodology for escaping the safety trap and integrating who you are with how you work. I call it The undefinable Ascent. It relies on three frameworks to help you arrive at your own personal summit:
The Purpose Acropolis
The antidote to fragility.
This is your ideal life and destination. The blueprint begins by gathering the raw Materials of your interests. We use them to lay a Foundation of semi-professional categories that offer you focus and room to grow.
We tie the vision together by placing the Keystone of your Golden Thread, then raise the Roof with the intellectual property of your Signature Expression. Finally, we support the structure with the Pillars of Value Streams that enable you to keep showing up year after year.
The Energy Toolkit
The antidote to burnout.
This is your capacity for the climb. You cannot conquer the mountain if you are exhausted at basecamp. Most undefinables try to manage their time, but the secret to longevity is managing your energy. The ascent requires specific equipment. You must lace up your Boots to maintain your physical baseline and fill your Flask to fuel your motivation with purpose, profit and play.
You’ll need a Stopwatch to pace your progress so you know when to sprint and when to rest and an Ice Axe to shape your environment and cut through distractions. Finally, you must keep a Field Guide to accelerate your ascent by learning from those who climbed before you.
The Income Pathway
The antidote to limitation.
Your practical route to making it a reality. Passion is a hobby, but profit is a system. You must design a business model that sustains your life, rather than a life that sustains your business. Your route begins at Basecamp where you secure the financial runway to climb with intention. You then plant a Flag to make your work visible and find a secure Foothold through paid experiments.
To scale trust, you light a Beacon of credibility and construct a Signpost to price your value effectively. Finally, you build a Stairway to productise your knowledge and decouple your income from your time.
These three frameworks are the core of everything I teach and they are the exact methodology I lay out in my new book.
This Wednesday 4th March, the physical paperback of undefinable life design officially goes live.
I’ll be sending one final email on Wednesday morning with the link. If these frameworks resonate and you are ready to stop climbing the wrong ladder and start making your own ascent, keep an eye on your inbox.
We’re almost there 🗻
